If you are reading this, you are reading my blog.  The word blog means "web log," This blog has been mine since I started writing it in 2007.  It's like an artist's diary.  If you look back at the earlier posts you will see many of my earlier paintings and what was important to me on certain days in the past.  You have to sign up to receive my blog by putting your email in the box at the top right. 

I usually write two blog posts a week. The subject can be whatever comes to mind.  Early on I did quite a few teaching-type posts, and sometimes get back to that when I have a class scheduled.  Sometimes I write about the fabulous Everglades landscape--every time I visit, I feel like I've received a great gift from nature.  Some posts are about places visited or art exhibitions  attended, or a new tool I've discovered. It's a pretty mixed bag!  

My newsletter is a little different, published once a month.  I post my three newest fine art paintings and let you know about my schedule and any upcoming classes along with an article of interest. If you sign up to receive my newsletter either from the sign-up in the studio or through the website, you become eligible to win a daily painting, drawn randomly three times a year.

Collector 's Corner

YOU are special! People who buy original art are a special breed. They know that originals are special and unique.

While "something" for the walls can be purchased in many big box stores, meeting the artist, discussing your special requirements, and choosing the perfect piece to complement your life and your home is something that will be remembered and enjoyed for years to come.

You will own something one of a kind, and truly unique. It will say "quality" to the friends and family who visit your home. 

Box store paintings may fade over time, and be easily disposed of when your decor changes. After a while you don't even see them on the wall. 

An original artwork usually holds it's value, both in the cost you pay and in the joy it gives you over the years. 

It's such a pleasure for me when someone says "your paintings make us happy!" It completes the circle for the work I do. Thank you!!

My Everglades painting Monday Morning looks simple, but the balance of light and dark is very carefully done. It makes me peaceful!

Once I realized that the newsletter I had been sending out might not, on your computer, look anything like what I though you were getting, I knew I would have to do better. I've contracted with Constant Contact, an email subscription service. Many of you may have received my June newsletter in your email boxes this morning. My goal was to get it out by June 1, and I'm thrilled to have done it, but it sure was a challenge. Sigh.

I'll sure there will be changes as the months go by, but at least there's something to work with now. Telling you something about the Everglades landscape is important to me. Does it interest you? Valuing you as collectors is important to me, so I've put in a "Collector's Corner" and there'll be a newsletter special in each issue. I always love to share what's happening in my art world. I'm hoping that you'll open it, read it, enjoy it. Let me know what you like and don't like.
